Inside the book

What's in The Identity Imperative

Digital identity is breaking faster than most organizations can see, and AI is about to make the failure catastrophic. The Identity Imperative gives leaders the framework to fix the foundation before the window closes.

  1. 01

    The privacy paradox.

Why the systems built to protect our identities are often the same ones putting them at risk, and what leaders get wrong when they treat privacy and security as a trade-off instead of a design problem.

  2. 02

Why everyone sees the crisis and no one moves.

A clear-eyed look at why organizations already know their identity infrastructure is broken and still don't act, the incentives, blind spots, and short-term thinking that keep foundational fixes off the roadmap until it's too late.

  3. 03

Real case studies from government, consumer, and workforce identity.

Proven and failed models from the field, so leaders can see what actually works at scale instead of relying on vendor claims or theory.

  4. 04

The Identity Hierarchy (courtesy of The Prism Project) and the Circle of Identity.

Two original frameworks for evaluating identity and privacy technologies critically, giving readers a concrete way to assess what they have, what they're missing, and where their architecture will fail first.

  5. 05

A stress test for what's coming.

A direct confrontation with how AI agents and other developments change the speed and scale of identity failure, and what organizations need in place before failure arrives.
